Create strong random passwords in seconds.
How does Password Generator work?
This generator creates a random password of the length you choose, from your selected mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols, using your browser's random number generator. Nothing you generate is sent over the network — the password only ever exists on your screen until you copy it.
How to use it
- Set the length with the slider (8 to 64 characters) and pick which character types to include.
- Click "Generate password" to create a new password matching those settings.
- Check the estimated strength label, then copy the result into your account's password field or your password manager.
Common use cases
- Setting a password for a new account or service.
- Replacing a password after a data breach or leak.
- Creating a longer, high-entropy password for a sensitive account like email or banking.
Frequently asked questions
Is the password sent to a server?
No. It is generated locally in your browser and never leaves your device.
What does the strength label mean?
It is an estimate based on length and character variety (entropy): "Weak" means it could realistically be brute-forced, while "Strong" or "Very strong" means the combination of characters makes guessing impractical.
